Our External wall insulation system is comprised of a range of external wall renders and insulation products. Manufactured by KREISEL, and this system has been optimised for performance on UK properties.
Our External wall insulation system offers a comprehensive range of solutions that will not only improve the appearance of existing properties but also significantly enhance their thermal performance.
The lightweight expanded polystyrene system (EPS) with a breathable and hydrophobic top-coat render is not only a superb insulator, it is also one of the most cost effective solutions available on the market today. Mineral wool is a breathable insulating material, perfect for insulating even the oldest properties in the UK housing stock.
This EWI system have a long and successful history; the products originate from an old German recipe from the late 1960s when Fixit Gruppe began to manufacture high quality plasters and mortars, key components of all the external wall insulation system.
The Kreisel system has been used to improve millions of domestic and commercial properties across continental Europe for over 40 years and is proven to last the test of time.
If you are looking to improve the appearance of a property, improve its thermal performance and help cut CO2 emissions please call us.
MINERAL RENDER SYSTEM
FULLY BREATHABLE MINERAL WOOL RENDER SYSTEM
CLASSIC RENDER SYSTEM
If you plan to use the loft or attic for storage, you will want to lay boards over the joists. Unfortunately, if you only insulate between the joists before doing this, the insulation won’t be thick enough.
Solid wall insulation
As a first stage, we need to do the render test on existing render to find out if it is strong enough to hold the insulation. If it is strong enough and the render can simply be smooth, ready for the insulation to be applied directly on to it. if is not strong enough, all the existing render need to be removed and also, the other important thing is we need clear outside walls and around the walls before the start work such as Flower pots, Any pipe works, Outside lights, Drainpipes and Satellite dishes…etc.. then Insulating panels are fixed to the wall using adhesive mortar. Plastic capped fixings are driven through the insulating panels and around their perimeter in to the wall to tie the panels securely to the wall. Mortar is then applied over the insulating panels and the fixings. An insulating mesh is then sunk in to the mortar to hold the panels in position. The mortar is sanded and rendering and ready for paint as this
render system come out in white as standard.
What are the Benefits?
Does not reduce the floor area of your home
Renews the appearance of outer walls
Improves weatherproofing and sound resistance.
Fills cracks and gaps in the brickwork, which will reduce draughts
Increases the life of your walls by protecting the brickwork
Reduces condensation on internal walls and can help prevent damp (but will not solve rising or penetration damp)
Variety of finishes available, including pebble dash, brick effect, silicone and plaster

|Typical installation cost*||External wall insulation: £8,000 to £22,000 / Internal wall insulation: £3,500 to £14,000|
Estimates based on insulating a gas-heated home. Costs may vary significantly depending on level of work required. Above estimates are based on a typical install, ranging between a small flat and a large detached home*energy savingtrust. http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/home-insulation/solid-wall
What is external wall insulation?
External wall insulation involves fixing a layer of insulation material to the wall, then covering it with a special type of render (plasterwork) or cladding. The finish can be smooth, textured, painted, tiled, panelled, pebble-dashed, or finished with brick slips.
What are the disruption?
Most of our works takes place outside of the property so can carry on your daily life as usual but we need to put up scaffolding and need all-round access to the outer walls, so please clear the outside walls and around the walls such as Flower pots, Outside lights, Drainpipes and Satellite dishes…etc.
How long does it take?
Approximately one to two weeks for installation, however it will be depending on the size of the property.
What is the cost?
We will let you know after visiting your property.
How does it affect my home?
It improves appearance of the property and It also helps weatherproof your walls and protect the brickwork as well as save money on your energy bills and it does not reduce the floor area of your home, fills cracks and gaps in the brickwork, which will reduce draughts and also reduces condensation on internal walls and it can help prevent damp (but will not solve rising or penetration damp) another thing is variety of finishes available, including pebble dash, brick effect, silicone and plaster.
Do I need a planning permission?
Please check with your building control officer. Also, if the building is listed or is in a conservation area you should consult your local planning authority.
Penetrating Masonry Protection
Penetrating Masonry Protection Cream Reduce heat loss in solid wall buildings, saving up to 29% in energy usage.
Benefits of thermaDri
- Deeply penetrating – up to 15mm, improving the effectiveness of the treatment by bridging small cracks and extending the life of the treatment.
- provides water and rain repellancy
- reduce heat loss
- tested to BS EN ISO 15148:2002 on a wide range of substrates – including bricks, mortars, concrete and sandstone.
- UV resistant -long life expectancy – up to 25 years
- Does not block pores – allows substrate to ‘breathe’
- Walls in exposed areas
- Wall protection where cavity wall insulation has been installed.
- Wall protection following cavity wall insulation extraction and refill
- Wall protection following flood damage
- Solid walls to reduce heat loss caused by damp penetration, savings up to 29% in energy usage.
When masonry gets wet, it gets cold… and cold walls mean cold buildings as heat escapes much more readily. Protect your home from penetrating damp and increase the thermal efficiency of masonry with thermaDri.
With its unique colourless cream formula will protect brick, stone and concrete from rain penetration for a period of 25 years, whilst allowing the masonry to breathe and retain its original appearance.
When the walls get wet, the thermal resistance value drops dramatically, meaning valuable heat is escaping from the building.
One third of houses in the UK are built using solid walls, meaning they are difficult to insulate using conventional methods such as cavity wall insulation.
External insulation can be costly, and internal insulation often takes up valuable floor space.
“thermaDri prevents moisture penetrating into brick and concrete, and is proven to reduce heat loss in solid wall buildings, saving up to 29% in energy usage.”
“Protect walls from damp penetration where cavity wall insulation has been installed”
25 years BBA Approved Masonry Protection.
Can be used on brick, stone or concrete.
Penetrates up to 15mm into the wall.
Allows masonry to breathe naturally.
